Boston 29 September

Last time we visited Boston we took a very comprehensive tour, so this time we took the bus into town to wander around.
it was a little overcast as we arrived  one of the first buildings we noticed intown was the Cunard Building, now offices  the old State House original seat of Colonial administration  dwarfed by the skyscrapers and even by the trucks
the old West Church built about 1806 and now a national monument  the Kings chapel, originally built as an Anglican church in the late 1790s it sits on top of part of Boston's first burial ground. It is now a Unitarian chapel  a monument inside Kings chapel  a monument from the King's Chapel Burying Ground. John Winthrop came originally from Suffolk.
We also found the Old Granary Burying Ground. This is one of the notable monuments  Park Street Church, built around 1810. A Congregational church  Massachusetts State House. No-one we asked knew why the flag was at half mast.  statue to the Irish famines
The old South Meeting House, built about 1729, it was the meeting place before the "Boston Tea Party"  couldnt resist it !!  street art  Quincy market - the old market complex built in early 19th century. Now an area of shops and restaurants
